Hello! Newbie here. Name's Phox.
I'm here searching for a roleplay! Hoping this site will bring me the writing I crave, with fantastic companions to boot. Myself I'm a 23 year old roleplayer, have been writing for quite some time. While I don't consider myself amazing, I do put in a full effort. I'm always looking to improve, and will take any critique gratefully. After all, for me the best way to improve, is to hear what I'm doing wrong. I encourage anyone I roleplay with to correct me if I'm wrong, doing something that doesn't make sense, or what I write simply isn't enjoyable. The bottom line, is that roleplaying is a two way street. Sure, Im here to fulfill cravings and desires. But so are you. I will do my very best to ensure any roleplay I am in is exciting and fun for the both of us. Not just myself.
I mainly tend to stick to slice of life or modern roleplays. However as a big fan of both fantasy and sci-fi outside of writing, I'm certainly open to either for an rp, if the plot is appealing. I have a strong preference for fxf roleplays, whether romantic or non romantic. However I will do mxf, with a preference of playing female. I'm open to multiple characters per rp, willing to do up to five mains, and as many sub characters as required. As far as romance is concerned, I will do romance if my partner wishes, but I believe that not all plots require it, and I'd rather not force it in as a requirement each and every time. Unless forcing it is part of the plot.
Typically I tend to post anywhere from 3-14 paragraphs a post. It all depends on the roleplay in question, the situation of the rp, how many characters I'm playing, and my partner's preferences. For my partners, I prefer a minimum of 3 paragraphs if possible, with no maximum. I want to receive enough to be able to work with it, but you could go on for pages and pages if you wish.
As for what I like to roleplay, this will be a fairly general search. However I won't put up a list of pairings and such. If you wish to see my full list, please message me and I'll send it over. However for the time being, I'll simply list plot ideas. If one of these interests you, please let me know! I'm open to adapting and changing them all as needed. And please feel free to suggest your own ideas!
1) Girl Body Switched with Comatose sister x Best friend/lover/enemy
This idea involves the relationship between twin sisters. They could be best of friends, or bitter enemies. Love or hate eachother, this is detail to be worked out. The two are preferably in college, but highschool could work too. One fateful day, the sisters both get into a serious accident. The two end up suffering various injuries, and coma's. One sister's damage and coma seem far more extensive, with doctors unsure when she'll even wake up. The other sister, is up in a matter of days. Not in perfect shape, but awake and recovering. However in some twist of fate, it turns out that the girl's switched bodies. The sister's body that is still in a coma, belongs to the mind within the awake sister, so she can only assume that her sister who should be awake, is inside her sleeping body.
The awake sister ends up deciding not to tell anyone, as its too wild a story to be true, noone would believe it. So she decides to take up her sister's life, until she recovers. This means learning to act like her, hang out with her friends, and take her day job as well.
In turn, this leads to one of a few variations:
a) The sleeping sister's best friend ends up coming to check on her, worried. However finding that she seems okay, is relieved. However, deciding its too much to take on alone, the coma sister tells her sister's friend about the switch, and they work together on integrating her into her sister's life. Drama ensues.
b) Sleeping sister's friend fawns over her after she awakens, doting over every little thing. This confuses coma sister (who is in sleeping sister's body). Soon enough, she finds out that the friend, is so much more, and actually her lover, kept secret from the family as she worried what they'd think of having a lesbian in the family. Coma sister now has to deal with this new development, and keep her sister's relationship in tact despite not having known about it previously. Or perhaps, will she work on ruining it, 'for her own good'?
c) Ends up running into her sister's bitter enemy, a girl she hates so deeply. However either coma sister ends up falling for the enemy, or the enemy ends up falling for the 'new' version of her.
(I would be fine playing either character, though I have a slight preference for the coma sister)

2) Barbertte Nun x troubled young woman
In a smaller town, away from the big cities lives a young woman who balances two lives with strong convictions. This woman serves as a barber in town for her day job, mostly catering to men. However on weekends or some nights, she doubles as a Nun, one of a few in the town who serve the local monastery. She is generally a no-nonsense woman with sharp and bold opinions on everything in life, but a kind heart. However, her kindness is paired with her rigged views on 'how things should be'. One day, a troubled young woman arrives in town, looking for some rest before moving on from town. On that morning however, the barber Nun finds her sitting around town. While not a tiny village, the town certainly isn't large, and she knows most if not all of hte people. If she doesn't know them, she's seen them around at least. This girl is new, and doesn't look to be in good shape. The barber nun finds her to be less than a prefect girl, disgruntled about many aspects of her. However she finds it in her heart to help her, and reads various signs from her, that shes in need of a new home. A new life. The barber nun may not be old enough to be a mom, but can be a friend, and a mentor. She ends up taking the troubled young woman into her care. She decides to make this woman into a perfect version of herself, the perfect woman she deserves to be. The barber nun ends up working to try and change her from the ground up, shaping her pieces by pieces into a proper lady, and one who believes in her faith. She ends up offering her a place to stay, in exchange for becoming a nun, and helping out at her shop. A win/win for them both. How will this shake up the small town's daily life? How will the troubled young woman adapt to her new sense of self?
(I would want to play the troubled young woman).
3) Cogs In Time.
At basics, its a combo of Ghost x time traveler. I only had a very basic shell of an idea though. So basically, Time Travelers is someone who ends up becoming a time traveler, not by choice. She has little knowledge of it, how it works, or why shes involved. However, with her is a ghost. Maybe a lifelong ghost friend she's always known, or maybe someone new, not sure yet. Either way, the ghost and the time traveler must travel through time, both to the past, and the future. In each period the time traveler must learn to blend in with the period, and live her life as someone in this time. Sometimes she must stay for a full day, or even a week. Other times, its could be a matter of hours. Sometimes its decided by her, sometimes not. There is something she is seeking, or must find throughout all the time periods she visits. Some time periods require her to get something from another period, or cause something in an earlier period, in order to manipulate events, while at the same time not breaking them. The two will return to most time periods many times, providing opportunity for reoccurring npc character in each time. And all throughout this, the ghost is at her side, helping her through her adventure. While the traveler is fairly clueless to history, it turns out the ghost is quite knowledgeable, and able to help a great deal in leading her along. And perhaps in one or two periods, the ghost is actually able to take physical form, an aspect that may create drama or tension between them.
(I would be looking to play the traveler)
4)The Perfect City
Malantra, often considered the city of gold. Known as a key location for a budding entertainment industry, Malantra is home to countless movers and shakers. Whether its those consuming the entertainment, or providing it, the city plays host to those who make the world go round. Entertainment fuels money, and money is power. The city's center is a sprawling landscape of mid-sized towers and extravagant venues. Densely populated city-center provides a constant crowd of consumers any day of the week. While large scale businesses and skyscrapers are rare, the city has no need for such things. Extravagance is key, rather than corporation.
The key industries within Malantra include Theater, Fashion, and Gambling. The general populous attend many a show at the countless theaters, carrying a sophisticated crowd. Anyone who is anyone within Malantra is always looking their best, and those who are a nobodies will go to great lengths to mimic the big-wigs, often spending every penny on their appearances. Fashion remains a key player through the city, for residents and tourists alike. Many will sell their souls for a chance to be a model, or train as a stylist.
The final section of the city's big three industries is gambling. Popular with tourists, but not unknown to the locals, gambling is as big in Malantra as in Vegas. Fanciful hotels, casinos on every street corner, gambling serves as the financial pillar of Malantra.
On the surface, the entire city appears pure, untainted, and free from corruption. Stories of crimes or cheating businessmen are rare. Behind the scenes however, a great many people work hard to keep it this way. Malantra is seen as a haven, a paradise, and a great deal of money goes into making it this way. Whether its for street cleaners, or bribes to hush the media, noone sees the city as anything but perfect. From the outside at least. Anyone who lives in Malantra long enough will see the darkness within. Each and every business in the city is involved one way or another in an ongoing war of information, money, and resources. Crime lords run many of the casinos, and the fashion agencies are no better. Their models are a means to an end. Tools to use and abuse for the sake of money. The law enforcement is made up of bribed or crooked cops, and so they too work towards the outward appearance of peace within the city.
Unlike many gangs and crime organizations, those within Malantra have a silent agreement where drugs and the like, simply are not accepted. Its not a clean way to do business, they feel, and have a zero tolerance policy for such substances being trafficked through their city. The gangs and organizations do fight, though its often so much more focused on the political battles, than physical. Dirty contracts, shady deals and fixed casinos are the primary conflict.
In a city where extravagance reigns, fashion is more important than your livelihood, and money is your lifeforce, how will you choose to survive? What path will you take to meet your goal? Will you attempt to stay pure, or rule from the shadows?
(There is no overall plot just yet for this. Its simply a setting that I love, and which to try in a roleplay. We can discuss characters and plot as needed, or feel free to come to me with your own idea)
5) Guild of Adventurers
Two(or four) friends have been dreaming their whole lives of escaping their town, and becoming true adventurers. They made pretend when younger, and started planning their adventures in greater detail with each year. Now as young adults, the time is right. Forsaking the safety of their home, the young dreamers set off with a goal in mind. An adventurer's guild. Perhaps running their own. Or instead joining an existing one. Either way, the friends work to try and conquer dungeons, collect loot and become part of a guild. The world is at their fingertips.
(This is a VERY vague idea. I basically just want to do something in a fantasy world where theres a focus on an adventurer's guild. Whether its based on these young friends, or some other guild or people, it matters not. Super open to discussion and ideas on this one)
