“Oh my god!” She dragged out a long groan and smacked her forehead with the palm of her hand. The resounding slap from the palm to forehead action, and possibly the little gasp she’d given because it had hurt, had the body beside her stirring amongst the sheets but thankfully not waking. She quickly clamped her mouth shut and silently cursed herself for ‘almost’ waking the sleeping figure beside her, a man she couldn’t recall the name of, and yet she had slept with him. Twice. Admittedly in one night - but twice and she didn’t even know his name, you would have thought by the second time she would have wanted to know. The last thing she wanted was for him to wake up whilst she was still there, or more importantly while she was still wrapped in his bed sheets. A quick glance sideways and she saw he was tangled in the very same sheets; one bare leg and muscled thigh peeking out from under the covers. He had his back to her, resting on his side and his tanned skin and dark hair stood out against the pristine white of the sheets.
Ariana Keely wasn’t prone to one night stands though it didn’t mean she’d never had them, but in the times she had found herself giving in to the throes of passion in a stranger's bed she had always remembered to sneak out before the sun rose the next morning. She was always the one doing the-walk-of-shame because she never allowed herself to bring them back to her apartment. Biting down on her bottom lip she assessed the situation now and whether she could sneak out undetected. Her blue eyes moved to the window above a darkwood dresser and saw the sun was out, like fully out, and shone through the sheer white curtains. It was what had woken her, she couldn’t sleep when it was so bright - but apparently he could, whoever he was. As much as she didn’t want him to wake up just yet, it annoyed her a little that he was getting more sleep than she was because the bright sunlight through his stupid sheer curtains didn't bother him.
Ariana moved her eyes around the room but kept her gaze trained to the floor, she was looking for her clothes but as she scanned the dark grey carpet of the bedroom floor, her clothes were nowhere to be seen which meant they were in another part of the house. Damnit! She ran her fingers through her thick dirty blonde hair, untangling parts of it angrily; her clothes not being in the same room made sneaking out undetected a little harder. Her frustration level grew and it made her want to slap herself again for not predicting that they’d never make it to his room before her clothes were completely off. Of course she couldn’t have predicted it, she’d possibly drank more than her own body weight last night - at least that’s what her head was telling her. Arianna groaned as her head thumped in acknowledgement confirming her thoughts that she had definitely had too much to drink which was of course how one night stands started in the first place and was also most likely the reason she hadn't felt the need to find out his name; she was too drunk to care.
She flinched away from the bright sunlight coming through the window and cursed the stranger beside her for not having curtains that actually blocked the sun out. ‘Naked guy’ -as she had dubbed him for lack of anything else to call him by- stirred beside her and she thought she must have groaned too loudly because now he was waking up. Time to go! The blonde scrambled from the bed, tried pulling the sheets along with her so she was covered up but was met with resistance. She gasped as her eyes locked with ‘naked guys’, his amber orbs burned into hers with a sultry heat that made her flush all over. He had propped himself up on one elbow and held a part of the sheet tightly to his chest preventing her from pulling it off so she could cover up. It was ridiculous to suddenly feel as shy as she did under his watchful gaze considering they had clearly been extremely intimate with one another only hours ago but she did, for a split second at least until her eyes narrowed on the grip he had on the sheet and her shyness turned to annoyance. She tugged harder on the linen but his grip remained firm and he only grinned at her failed efforts.
“It’s rude to stare.” She informed ‘naked guy’ boldly before finally managing to free the sheet from his grip which she then quickly wrapped around her 5'7 athletic frame and held it close to her ample chest hiding what he had already seen plenty of last night.
“It’s also rude to sneak out of other people's houses without saying goodbye, but I don’t see you complaining about that.” His voice matched his sultry gaze, deep and a little rough and a whole lot of sexy. Jesus! Get out of there now, before it's too late!. Arianna chewed her lip as she considered the warning in her head. “You weren’t supposed to wake up.” She replied a little huffily as her head said one thing but her body was clearly saying something different; heat pooled between her thighs just by the way he was looking at her and the sound of his voice. “No?” He questioned and lifted a brow, eyes traveling over her messy hair and flushed cheeks and if he grinned at her like that any more it was going to split his face in two.
“No!” She snapped more heatedly this time and one hand came to the side of her hip in a I’m-not-messing-around-here kind of way. He only chuckled which infuriated her further and had her turning her back to him searching for the door that would lead her out of the room. She made a direct beeline for the door she assumed was the correct one and felt a little relieved that it was; it would have been embarrassing if she found herself walking straight into a wardrobe or linen closet. She possibly shut the door behind her a little too firmly for it not being her own apartment and almost felt the urge to shout an apology through it back to 'naked guy' but her eyes landed on some of her clothes and she didn’t say anything.
The trail of clothes led into the living room and further down the short hallway to the front door and she quickly balled all the garments that she could find were hers into her arms and went in search for a bathroom so she could dress. Thankfully 'naked guy' was staying away and allowing her this privacy. Finding the bathroom, eventually, Ariana removed the sheet she had wrapped around herself and hastily began pulling on her clothes; stockings first, strapless bra next and her red slip dress last which she had to shimmy into a little as it was a one size too small for her frame but gave the appearance of clinging to her every curve which was the look she’d been aiming for by choosing the dress.
“You don’t have to go you know,” A deep voice sounded behind her while she was adjusting the front of her dress. The sudden interruption made her jump and cling to the top of her dress as though it threatened to fall down. Ariana spun around, heart racing, to find ‘naked guy’ leaning in the doorway; he was no longer completely naked, a pair of boxer-briefs were now hugging his hips. How long had he been standing there? Pervert. From the smirk on his handsomely angled features she’d guess nearly the entire time she’d been getting dressed. Extreme pervert, she thought and it made her want to throw something at him to wipe that smug look from his face.
“You can stay for the weekend.” He suggested far too casually, but as she caught his gaze she realised he wanted her to stay. Her mouth suddenly went a little dry, her head thumped a little harder reminding her of all the alcohol she had consumed, and she couldn’t believe she was actually considering his offer. It could be fun... Arianna licked her dry lips and quickly shook her dirty blonde hair, immediately deciding against the idea even with that thought. “For all I know you could be a serial killer getting his kicks first before you cut me into little pieces and feed me to your dog.” She said, sounding more paranoid than she really was normally.
“I don’t have a dog.” He said a little perplexed by her reaction and the frown he was now giving her only deepened as she pushed past him out of the bathroom. “At least stay for breakfast!” She heard him say, and she thought he sounded a little frustrated. She found her way down the hall, spotted her purse and scooped it up from the table as she left. She could hear him following behind her but she forced herself not to look back at him; one look at those seductive eyes of his again and she might just take him up on his offer and have a ‘sex weekend’ with a total stranger.

Oh god, oh god please don’t be two lines, please!
Arianna sat on the edge of her bathtub in her tiny bathroom of her even smaller one bedroom apartment staring down at the white stick she had just peed on as though the answer it held would define the rest of her life. Admitted it would define the rest of her life, if the result came out positive. Her foot tapped anxiously against the bathroom tiles as she waited the recommended three minutes for the results. It was the longest three minutes of her life. Please, please, please... She sucked in a deep breath as the lines started to form, one pink line came into view and the second one was nowhere in sight and she sighed with relief. Only her relief was short lived as a faint outline of a second line began forming in the last few seconds.
Fuck!
Suddenly the lethargy she’d been feeling over the last few weeks, the indigestion, the few extra kilos and the sleepless nights all made sense. She was pregnant; there was a little person growing inside for her. The weight of that knowledge threatened to drag her down; she wanted to burst into tears, slam doors and break things in hopes it would make all of it go away. She was barely twenty-two years old and was still finishing off her education part-time at college whilst trying to hold down work with a temp agency that flittered her from job to job where she was needed. She wasn’t ready to be a mother, not yet...not now. But the symptoms didn’t lie, and the home pregnancy tests were fairly efficient these days.
When she went to the doctors tomorrow morning it would confirm the test, she knew it would because deep down she already knew her answer, and no amount of hoping was going to change that.
“Ana! C’mon you’ve been in there for ages, we’ll miss the movie.” Lydia, her best friend, called through the bathroom door, reminding her that they’d chosen to see a movie for their Friday night get together. Hastily she stored the test back in its packaging and rather than bin it for whoever were to use her bathroom before the trash went out, she tucked it away at the back of a drawer. “The previews always take forever, we won’t miss anything.” Ariana told her friend after washing her hands and exiting the bathroom, telling herself to forget her world was crashing down around her for one night and have fun with her friend.

Tea. Yuck. She stared down at the cup she cradled between her hands with a look of utter displeasure, she’d always hated tea and preferred coffee. She was learning all of the things she now couldn’t have because of this pregnancy, coffee being one of many, caffeine apparently was bad for the baby. Sighing she took a small sip of the warm liquid, deciding that if she had to, she could live with it for seven and a half months. Absently she placed her palm against her only-just-starting-to-show belly, something she’d been doing a lot of lately without realising, searching for that connection with her unborn child.
Yes she’d thought her life was over in the beginning -she’d been terrified of raising a child on her own- but now, thanks to the help of her best friend Lydia and her Aunt Kathy she was looking at it as more of the start of her new life. Sure there would be no more partying until all hours of the morning on the weekends which meant no more alcohol, and she’d been told she couldn’t drink coffee anymore and soon she was going to have to invest in a whole new wardrobe, but it was a sacrifice that she was now believing would hold its own rewards in the end.
Ariana had certainly learnt her lesson about drunken one night stands with strangers she’d never see again though, because that was just what had happened, she hadn’t seen ‘naked guy’ since and she’d been so hell bent on getting out of there she hadn’t paid attention to where he lived. He was blissfully unaware that in seven and a half months he was going to be a father to a little boy or girl, he could keep on living his life as he had without a single care in the world whilst she had this huge responsibility growing inside of her that would be hers and hers alone. Lydia’s, Aunt Kathy kept reassuring Ariana that she would be a good mother, but what exactly did it mean to be a good mother? She had no idea. Hers had skipped out on her when she was three and left her with a man that wasn’t even her biological father! It was a miracle that he had turned out to be a decent man, not abusive and he hadn’t abandoned her.
She was brought out of her reverie as a sudden onset of heartburn kicked in, it was probably the worst side effect of her pregnancy so far because once it was there it didn't go away easily. Morning sickness she could handle, a sudden bout of queasiness didn’t last long for her before she was over it, but heartburn was the killer. Ariana sat up a little straighter and reached for her tea again, taking a few small sips to wash down some of the bile she felt rising in the back of her throat. God it was disgusting! And the tea was not helping, in fact it burned more.
She was just reaching for the bottle of water she kept in her handbag with her pretty much all the time these days when someone plonked themselves down on the chair in front of her. She wasn’t expecting anyone, hadn’t arranged to meet up with her best friend, so it was certainly unexpected. The guy grinning across at her when she looked up clutching her water bottle to her chest was unfamiliar at first and all she could do was frown back at him, arching a brow. “It’s kind of rude to just assume that that seats not taken,” She felt no issue pointing out to him as she uncapped the bottle and drank a mouthful of water.
She almost spat it all back out as her brain finally registered who the guy was, but with only a little difficulty she managed to swallow it without choking. How she couldn’t have recognised him instantly was beyond her, she’d burned an image of him in her head, he had been a memorable night for her...in more ways than one. ‘Naked guy’ sat across from her, with that same saucy little grin he’d given her the morning after. “You’ve got to be kidding me.” She moaned quietly to herself. The universe was screwing with her, it had to be, this was only someone who looked very similar to ‘naked guy’, this was not ‘the naked guy’. But it was, and she knew it was, she just didn’t want to comprehend it just yet because it was completely incomprehensible that they’d ever cross paths again.

ooc: okay, so there's still a little plotting to do, and if the whole pregnancy isn't your thing we can scrub that out. I just haven't done this genre in soo long, I'm keen to do one.
