Will, why is this happening?
I don't know. You look beautiful.
I think it's bad luck for the groom to see the bride before the wedding.

Those words echoed in William Turner's mind as he was dragged rather violently from his fiance. It killed him to see her shackled as he was. He was the reason behind all of this, she should go free. He recalled having demanded her freedom before, but that had been when he was still naive and didn't understand 'Pirate Code'. He felt he understood it far better now after sailing the seas with Captain Jack Sparrow to save his beloved from the treacherous Barbossa. The man was lost to the Locker now, along with much of his former crew, and so Will had thought his life would settle down again. He was convinced all was well after becoming a Blacksmith instead of an apprentice. It had gone well and the best was to happen on this day. He was scheduled to wed the beautiful Elizabeth Swann, the only woman he had ever had eyes for.
And it was going according to plan until just before he was to appear at the port where their union would take place. He was double checking his clothes to make sure all was in order and presentable when the Redcoats beat down the doors to his shop. They took him by surprise, cuffing him before he could defend himself. He wasn't a pirate, but seeing that they were about to take his freedom from him made him want to fight like one. He didn't even know what the reasoning behind this seizure. He protested, yelling at them. It was his wedding day and he could see his beloved Elizabeth in tears due to his failed appearance. He would never abandon her and yet they were making him do so. He had only hoped she wouldn't lose faith in him. He loved her unconditionally, loved her to the death.
You are my delight and my comfort all night
And I'd wrap you up tight in my arms
And I'd wrap you up tight in my arms
Fight as he may, there was no use to it. Elizabeth and her father were separated from him which meant there was something else at work here. He had seen intent in Beckett's eyes and knew he had a plan to this. He wasn't simply arresting them because he could. He wouldn't bring half the King's Navy to Port Royal without good reason. Apparently this good reason concerned both Will and his Fiancee, though more specifically, Will. Elizabeth hadn't aided the springing of Sparrow like William had and she was likely being imprisoned and threatened with death so her fiancee would cooperate with ridiculous demands. Unfortunately, Will would comply because he would put Elizabeth's safety before his own. She was worth more then him.
Knowing this, it wasn't much of a surprise when Will was retrieved from the prison cell and shoved before Cutler Beckett. The formalities the man was giving was nauseating, but Will stood there, enduring it. There was a point to all of this and he would need to hear a bunch of unnecessary details before he got there. Beckett wished to intimidate those around him with formalities and a cold demeanor. Will would not bend to him and thus a look of distaste and distrust remained on his young face. Finally he rounded to his point after Will refused his hospitality of a drink. He despised being in the same room as this man and surely would not share a drink with him. If Elizabeth weren't in the stronghold below Will would walk out with no regard for his own life. Hearing Beckett spit his poison was giving the Blacksmith a headache.
Then Will found out that he was in search of a possession of the Captain's. He'd gotten it into his head that apparently he and Jack were friends and that he would simply hand over whatever William asked for. Regardless of the fact that he knew Will's father, he would not hand over any possession of his. Pirate's took and gave nothing back. That much of the Code Will had learned while on board with the brigands. "Recover? At the point of a sword?" Will asked of Beckett, a tone of disbelief thick in his voice. He could best Jack in a fair sword fight, but he did not necessarily wish to cross blades with him again.
"Bargain! Letters of Marque. You will offer what amounts to a full pardon. Jack will be free, a privateer in the employ of England." The documents were handed over to Will after Beckett explained how he was to go about doing this.
"Somehow I doubt that Jack will consider employment the same as being free."
"Freedom. Jack Sparrow is a dying breed. The world is shrinking, the blank edges of the map filled in. Jack must find his place in the new world or perish. Not unlike yourself, Mr. Turner. You and your fiancee face the hangman's noose."
"So you get both Jack and the Black Pearl."
"The Black Pearl?"
"The property you want that he possesses."
"A ship? Hardly! The item in question is considerably smaller and far more valuable. Something Sparrow keeps on his person at all times: a compass. Ah, you know it. Bring back that compass or there's no deal."
Your lips are as red as the roses sheen
But mine have touched no other I wheen
Than the glass that I drank to the health of my queen
But mine have touched no other I wheen
Than the glass that I drank to the health of my queen
Will found himself in the care of the Governor after his uncomfortable discussion with Beckett. What would he want with Jack's compass? He brushed the question aside momentarily before he knelt before Elizabeth, hating to see her behind cold steel. "Elizabeth." He breathed her name in relief, holding her hand through the bars. "Beckett wants Jack's compass. I must go and convince Jack to return to Port Royal and the charges against us will be dropped." He assured. A few more words were shared between them before he knew he must leave, begin his search for Jack Sparrow. "Keep a weather eye on the horizon." He said before parting, missing the feel of her skin the moment they broke contact. However now was not the time to dwell on what could happen. A positive attitude was what would drive him. Thoughts of returning to Elizabeth would keep him going.
