Site Rules
Please adhere to these rules at all times!
one.
Members are only allowed one account each and must not have a username or display name similar to staff members. If an account name has been created by mistake similar to that of a staff member please contact an administrator to rectify the problem. Also if you wish to change your username or display name in the future you'll have to ask one of our friendly staff members to issue you a new name. No usernames or display names using profanity will be accepted, you will be asked to choose a different name, and if you refuse your account will be deleted immediately.
New members are encouraged to introduce themselves when joining the site so other members can get to know them and can do so here, however it is not a rule if you don't wish to.
two.
Be respectful to your fellow UR members, no bullying of any kind will be tolerated here at Urban Ripple and your account may be deleted immediately without any warnings given depending on the severity of your behavior. There is a difference between friendly banter and hurtful comments/behavior. We are a friendly community and want to keep it that way!
three.
At the present time no images or gifs should be used in your signature. We would like to keep the site looking clean and organised. The use of images or gifs in a signature will be looked into in the future.
When making posts, please do not change your font color from the default theme color. If the default color is too light (can't be seen in the thread post) or unsightly you can change the color to black and contact a staff member and we will try and resolve the problem.
four.
For the sake of any younger members in the community your thread should indicate any mature content current or expected in the future. Indicate with an M or 18+ in the title if you intend to have mature content. Any mature content should be kept tasteful and in character, no graphic images are to be used in your posts. If you wish to use images in your posts, again they must be tasteful and not pornographic. Also if your role-play is reserved for another member please indicate as such in your title. If you have an open thread you can let other members know by having your title display 'Open'. If it is an open thread, please speak to the creator before posting on it.
five.
'Chatspeak' is allowed in any OOC posts and in the Shoutbox, however please don't use it excessively to point where it is not understandable. The same goes for any smiley's used. And of course, when posting in character, use proper English.
six.
Urban Ripple is a literate role-playing community but we do not hold auditions for members to be accepted to the site and only ask that every in character post must be at least 150 words or more. If a role-play partner has asked that you write more than 150 words per post please be respectful of their request and follow that guideline. If for any reason you are unable to manage 150 words in a post, talk to your partner and ask them to give you more content from their previous post or if the 150 words you have is enough. We understand that not every reply is going to be a page long and sometimes less is more, speak to your current partner about the length of your post and try and work something out.
seven.
There shouldn't be any double posting when 'in character', but if for any reason there is a glitch and you've posted twice please let one of the staff know and we can delete the unwanted post. Double posting is allowed in the OOC Lounge but mustn't be abused. We are also allowing double posting in your tracker/character threads if need be. There is an edit button which you can use to correct or add content to a post you've previously made, please use this handy tool!
and finally...
We reserve the right to change the rules whenever we need, but members will be notified if any changes are or due to be made.
